We return to talk about Studio MAPPA and crunch issues, issues that some animators had already brought up over the past few weeks during the broadcast of The Attack of the Giants 4 Part 1. The company is currently working on numerous productions including Chainsaw Man to Jujutsu Kaisen, still controversial.

Hayashi’s photo from the MAPPA Stage 2021 went around the world. The director de The attack of the giants he had indeed shown himself with enormous dark circles, tried with such weariness that his appearance could not help but arouse great concern among the fans. He himself actually had compared the production of the anime to “Hell”, a symptom of major problems within the study.

To report one more case is a Japanese animator known on Twitter by the nickname. known @DaifukuFD who revealed his experience with the MAPPA study: “When I got a job to take part in the production of an animated film for a studio that recently released a very popular promotional video (Chainsaw Man), I was shocked to learn that the unit price (frame) was 250 yen (less than two) was euros). This is an absolutely terrible salary for a film production that requires a greater degree of care in the making of each frame. I felt really stressed out, overwhelmed with feelings of despair and anger.

Chances are the anime he’s referring to is true Jujutsu Kaisen, a franchise that will enjoy an animated film from Studio MAPPA, the company that recently released the trailer for Chainsaw Man, which went viral on the internet. Then Daifuku adds: “I wonder if they are paying too much money to the original artists, which ultimately results in reducing both the animation team and the budget of the editing and finishing team. Obviously the animation and editing guys have the right to be accredited and this company should show more respect for their work.

Instead, what do you think of these statements by this alleged animator? As usual, let us know your thoughts on this with a comment below.
