In early December, The Attack of the Giants 4 began, the final television season of the popular anime based on the manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama. The story this time will be adapted by Studio MAPPA, which took over responsibility after three seasons produced by WIT Studio. In the beginning there is still a lot to change from the comic material.
However, with the release of The Attack of the Giants 4×04 on VVVVID and Amazon Prime Video last week, we have already reached a quarter of the program. Following the rumors of the past few weeks, several confirmations have come in that testify like this The final season of The Attack of the Giants will only consist of 16 episodes.
It will therefore be a short season, not the shortest as the second had 12 episodes, but still a lot lower than expected. The confirmation came not only from the official release of the Blu-ray, which will be two and will contain 8 episodes each (from 60 to 67 and from 68 to 75), but also also on the official page of The Attack of the Giants anime.
However, it seems difficult for Studio MAPPA to adapt all of the material available in the manga into so few episodes and this could therefore result in either an incomplete television ending or a film that is shown first in Japanese and then in global cinemas and itself deals with telling the final narrative arc. Whatever the choice is The Attack of the Giants 4 remains the anime’s final television season.
