On the official page for the original anime 07. Extension and the studies Passione, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou ((Higurashi: When they cry - Gou) the cover and details of the project's second Blu-ray / DVD package were revealed.

This physical package will be released in Japan on March 24th and contains the fifth through eighth episodes of this new animation project. The Blu-ray version costs 14,300 yen (about $ 137), while the DVD version costs 12,100 yen (about $ 116). Benefits include a booklet with images and game codes for smartphones.

The series premiered in Japan on October 1 and confirmed with a total of 24 episodes. The franchise is based entirely on a series of visual novels, the first episode of which was published in Japan in 2002. From there, several adjustments to manga, anime, and live-action projects began.

  • Ryukishi07 Y. 07. Extension are credited with the original idea while Akio Watanabe ((Monogatari series) is responsible for the character design.
  • The studies Passione ((Citrus fruits, Rokka no Yuusha, High School DxD Hero) are responsible for the animation of the project.
  • Naoki Hayashi ((Black fox, Citrus fruits) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
  • Kenji Kawai ((Ghost in the shell, Mobile suit Gundam 00) returns to compose the series' soundtrack.
  • Asaka plays the opening song titled "I Believe What You Said" while Ayane enumerates the final topic entitled "Kamisama no Syndrome".

Summary of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou

On a warm summer day in 1983, transfer student Maebara Keiichi arrived in a peaceful rural town in Hinamizawa. There he befriends his classmates Rena, Mion, Rika and Satoko. Keiichi and the gang, who are recognized as official members of the "Club", practice various activities such as card and board games as well as hide and seek. But just as Keiichi was getting used to life in the country, he came across the dark story behind Hinamizawa. When Keiichi reveals this dark secret, he discovers that his new friends may not be what they appear to be.
