A few hours ago, the Japanese company Bandai Namco Holdings announced that the fourth life-size statue, the Gundam. is dedicated, the giant robot from Studio Sunrise. Project manager Koji Fujiwara said preparations are almost complete and more details will be announced at the Gundam conference this fall.

Bandai Namco is currently funding the production of three life-size statues of the gigantic robot. The first was made in 2017 and is a reproduction of the Mobile Suit Unicorn RX-0 that can be viewed in the Tokyo City Divers Plaza complex. The second statue is a reproduction of the RX78-2 from Mobile Suit Gundam that can be viewed in Yokohama, 18 meters high and movable, while the last is a 1: 1 representation of the Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. which can be visited in Shanghai, China.

Bandai hasn't shared any information on this new model at the moment, so we don't know where it will go up and how long it will take to complete the work, but luckily we don't have to wait long to get new details. However, Koji Fujiwara said this is a big investment so it is possible that this new model will be moved as well.

Gundam recently returned to the cinema with the film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway, already with a total collection of more than half a billion yen. In Japan they are still very popular in mecha, so this fourth scale reproduction may not be the last.
