Juicy Mobile Suit Gundam-themed news will be arriving in the coming months. The anime film will debut in the summer Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Islandof which recently the character designs of some protagonists were presented.
In the first Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island trailer, viewers got a taste of the battle between Amuro’s Gundam and Doan’s MS-06F Zaku II. On the animated feature’s official social media a new character group which we will see in action.
Based on the 15th episode of the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime, the staff of the film cast the infamous season of Southern Cross of Zeon. Each of these five pilots is a customized version of theMS-06GD High Mobility Zaku.
The line-up is set to music by some Japanese dubbing stars. Danan Rashica, the team’s rookie, is voiced by Yuu Hayashi, la Voice of Mikey Sano from Tokyo Revengers. The only female member, Selma Levens, will have the same Voice of Sailor Venus from Sailor Moon Crystal. Yun Sanho is voiced by Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog. The final two, Egba Balter and Wald Ren, are voiced by two voice actors who have previously appeared in the Gundam 0083 cast: Stardust Memory and Gundam Thunderbolt.
Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island debuts in Japanese cinemas from June 3rd, but it’s not the only project planned for the franchise. The first female-lead Gundam anime series, The Witch From Mercury, will also be released in 2022.
