Although IDW Publishing is going through a difficult time in view of the recent loss of the license for the comics GI Joe and Transformers, the American publisher still manages to surprise with a bombshell announcement: Godzilla and the Power Rangers will meet in a comic book due in 2022.

IDW actually announced it Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, an event miniseries born from the partnership between Toho International, Boom Studios and Hasbro. this Crossover between two Titanic franchises is written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Freddie Williams II.

"It's an honor to tell the meeting between two legendary franchises like Godzilla and Power Rangers"explains Bunn."I've been a huge Godzilla fan since I first learned to read, and my love for the King of the Monsters has never diminished over the years. Just as I have always loved Tokusatsu and I vividly remember watching the first episode of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers when it first came out. It's a crossover that I think will surprise readers - but I assure you it will make total sense!".

Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers # 1 will be released in March 2022. The miniseries will consist of five issues and will appear monthly. For King of the Monsters lovers, it might be interesting that the 1954 Godzilla film has been restored in 4K.
