Posted on the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki, Goblin Slayera new promotional image for the second season of the project was released. The press release has not confirmed the production team or the planned release date, although it has been announced since January 2021.
Kumo Kagyu and Noboru Kannatsuki publish the original light novels via the imprint GA Bunko from the publisher SBCreative since February 2016. The publisher released the fourteenth volume in March 2021, followed by the fifteenth in December 2021 in Japan. On the other hand, the manga adaptation of kousuke kurose will be published via the magazine Monthly big gangan from the publisher Square Enix since May 2016.
A twelve episode anime adaptation produced by the studios WHITE FOXLed by Takaharu Ozaki and scripts written by Hideyuki Kuratawas released in October 2018, followed by a feature film released in February 2020 and titled Goblin Slayer: Crown of the Goblin.
Goblin Slayer Synopsis
Goblins are known for their ferocity, cunning, and rapid reproduction, but their reputation as the meanest of monsters means their threat is often overlooked. These vile creatures raid rural civilizations to kidnap females of other species for breeding, and can continue their attack while adventurers turn a blind eye in favor of more rewarding quests with greater rewards. To commemorate her first day as a porcelain adventurer, the 15-year-old priestess joins a group of young and enthusiastic newcomers to investigate a tribe of goblins responsible for the disappearance of several village women. Unprepared and inexperienced, the group soon faces their inevitable death from an ambush while exploring a cave.
With no one else left, the terrified priestess accepts her fate – until the Goblin Slayer unexpectedly shows up not only to rescue her with little effort, but to destroy the entire nest of goblins. As the holder of the prestigious Silver rank, the Goblin Slayer allows you to accompany him as he assists the Adventurers’ Guild in all goblin-related matters. Along with the Priestess, High Elf, Dwarf, and Lizardman, the armored warrior will not rest until all goblins are wiped out of the frontiers forever.
