Hiromu Arakawa has devoted much of his life as a cartoonist to his greatest achievementHagane no Renkinjutsushi which conquered the entire decade of the year 2000. The path to Fullmetal Alchemist was paved with gold – not converted, of course – in a path that also led to anime and films.

Now the world of Fullmetal Alchemist is still in turmoil, although its author has now moved to other shores with new projects, including the very latest ones Yomi no Tsugai. A new storyline is unfolding for Edward Elric thanks to Fullmetal Alchemist’s upcoming live-action feature film, which has been revealed in the last few days with a new poster.

The protagonists in this poster are Edward Elric, the alchemist of steel, his brother Alphonse in armor and Scar the Isvarian, who has long been the main characters’ greatest enemy. The project was supported by Hiromu Arakawa, who took the opportunity to design the same poster but with his own style. In a special illustration, Edward and Alphonse Elric were partially destroyed due to Scar’s power, visible above.

Hiromu Arakawa’s style with its black and white it certainly gives the situation a different effect, making it more dramatic. What do you think?
