The Flashpoint universe is about to make its comeback to comics: DC Comics has announced Flashpoint Beyond, the miniseries sequel to the 2011 crossover written by Geoff Johns. After the details of the first two editions were revealed, DC showed the covers and the first information about the next three issues.
Flashpoint Beyond will see the return of Thomas Wayne as Batman a universe where Bruce Wayne was killed in a shootout. The Flashpoint universe was wiped out during the New 52 event, only to be revived recently.
The miniseries in six issues will be written by original screenwriter Geoff Johns who, accompanied by Tim Sheridan, Jeremy Adams and the artist XermΓ nico, will narrate the new adventures of Thomas Wayne’s Batman.
The covers of numbers #2, #3 and #4 show some of the other characters in Flashpoint Beyond: We see, in fact, Project Superman, the result of a Kal-El imprisoned since his arrival on Earth, as well as Cyborg, Flash, Shazam and Aquaman. The latter will represent Thomas Wayne’s ultimate opponent.
Flashpont Beyond #2 will be released on May 3, 2022 in the US. Two weeks later, it’s the turn of Flashpoint Beyond #3, while the fourth issue is scheduled for release on May 31st. We share the main and alternate covers of these three numbers in the gallery below.
It won’t be the only “Beyond” series to propose to the Distinguished Competition in the near future: DC has announced Batman Beyond Neo Year, which will star Terry McGinnis, the original Batman Beyond.
