The celebrations for the huge success of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 are not over yet, and it seems that the folks at Studio Khara have found a great way to increase movie ticket sales. Indeed, from Saturday, May 15th, all viewers receives an A4 mini poster (21×29 cm) dedicated to two of the most popular characters, Asuka and Rei.
You can take a look at Khara’s announcement and mini-poster rehearsal below. made by animation director Atsushi Nishigori. Asuka’s role is clearly visible and includes the autograph of the voice actress for Yuko Miyamura and a message of thanks. The part of Rei is still covered insteadand will be shown near the weekend. However, the autograph of the dubber Megumi Hayashibara is clearly visible.
This is stated in the press release from Studio Khara A total of one million mini posters will be available and no reprints will be made. Although sales begin on May 15, many Japanese cinemas will be closed due to the extension of the state of emergency declared by the national government. As a result, many theaters may still have a mini-poster available after they reopen on May 31st.
Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 raised the equivalent of 63 million euros in just under two months, and Khara hopes to give the film a final boost before the screening ends. The film currently ranks second at the Japanese box office under Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet.
