The 1990s were a boom time dragon ball, largely thanks to the unstoppable success of Toei Animation’s anime. Along with the adventures of Goku during these years, the popularity of the Power Rangers, an American franchise that had taken a lot from the Japanese Super Sentai, also grew.
A parallel development attended by millions of viewers around the world and which became practically the central part of the1990s youth television entertainment. Now as then, the two franchises have taken very different paths, but a fan of these two universes so different wanted to have them meet in the great fanart that you can see at the bottom of the page.
User Salvamakoto, best known for Dragon Ball fanart and illustrations that respect Z’s style, actually came up with this Goku as the Red Ranger, leader of the Power Rangers of the first series. A pretty flashy costume change for the Saiyan who confidently wields the ranger’s sword and seems ready to attack Freeza or maybe Rita Repulsa, a witch who plays the role of the main antagonist of the first Power Rangers. What do you think of this crossover? As usual, tell us in the comments section.
Finally, remembering that Goku was the protagonist of a crossover with Superman, we leave you the cover of Dragon Ball 33 designed by Hirohiko Araki.
