Dragon Ball great immediately presented itself as a distortion of the story originally conceived by Akira Toriyama. In the last few arcs, the mangaka has further elevated the position of Goku and Vegeta, granting them practically divine powers, but which of the two could we consider better?
Despite sharing the same term Ultra, the newer forms of the two Saiyans don't have much in common. In the case of Goku, Ultra Instinct represents a new way of fighting, perceiving the opponent's movements and using the stillness of mind and spirit.
Although Chapter 85 presented a new version of Ultra Instinct where the hair doesn't turn silver and Goku actually manages to do it Unite the power of the Saiyan spirit with the serenity of divine techniqueoverall, this requires the user to invest a large amount of energy and Ki. This makes it excellent in short-lived fights, but complex to manage and use in longer fights, as is the case against Gas on Cereal.
On the other hand, Vegeta's Ultra Ego works in a very different way. After following Beerus' teachings, the Saiyan Prince approached techniques of destruction, the Hakai of the Gods of Destruction. In this case, the aggressive and violent nature of the Saiyans in some way favored the use of these techniques, but led Vegeta to overestimate the damage received, which thanks to the Ultra Ego itself can be transformed into power, and thus risk that he ends up exhausted on the ground, as happened in the same battle as above.
Basically both divine forms of the protagonists have their advantages and disadvantages, and risk being restricted on various occasions and situations. For now, Goku seems to have mastered the technique better than his eternal rival, but there's still a lot to discover, particularly about the possible strategies Vegeta could employ, aware of the ability to convert damage into energy.
