Toei Animation unveiled the new Dragon Ball movie during the 2021 San Diego Comic-Con special, revealing names, characters, and even showing off the first teaser trailer. According to the Japanese study the new film will be titled Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and, as already mentioned, will be launched in the course of 2022.
The first teaser trailer will be created in CGI and shows Goku doing his usual warm-up jumps before revealing the exit window. Below you can take a look at the character design of some of the protagonists including Piccolo, Pan, Krillin and a brand new character. Pan's design suggests the existence of a possible leap in time.
The new Dragon Ball movie will be a sequel to Dragon Ball Super: Broly and has the difficult task of living up to the very high expectations of fans of the saga. The characters shown in the first pictures confirm this What is told in the film will be an unpublished narrative arc, but at the moment Toei has not indicated whether it will be placed before or after the events of the manga.
