In spite of Dragon Ball Super brings some pleasant surprises with it, between increasingly epic battles and characters with an interesting background. However, there are a number of question marks that leave many readers baffled, most notably the problem of characterizing Goku.
In fact, we've been waiting for a development for Goku for a while, which comes very late. In a way, it's actually like the protagonist himself take a big step back than in the past and an example is a dialogue with Whis during one of the first workouts between the two. On this occasion, our hero was therefore surprised by the angel who even explained to him the reason for this inattention:
βToo much relaxation is also a problem, and that comes from being too confident. No matter how strong you are, once you lose focus, your body remains a fragile thing. You are too often complacent and therefore you get caught unprepared and inattentive. "
Goku should be aware of this lesson by now, however, as he pitched it against Freeza in Dragon Ball Z:
""Let me give you a bonus tip. You believe too much in yourself and that's why you let openings ... "
A proposal that might sound a little incoherent today, but it exposes all of the problems and limitations of characterizing Goku. And you, on the other hand, what do you think of all of this? Let us know with a comment below.
It's so crazy that Whis Goku is basically repeating what he tells Freeza.
I still can't get over how much Whis' teachings / advice generally feels like obvious reminders rather than new ideas (outside of the UI, of course). pic.twitter.com/6GjHaejsfL- Carthu (@carthusdojo) April 26, 2021
