It’s finally time to abandon Goku and Vegeta to focus on the rest of the cast created by Akira Toriyama years ago. After completing the Granolah saga, Toyotaro and Toriyama have decided to rejoin the Dragon Ball Super anime timeline, which is based on the events of the Super Hero movie. And therefor Goten and Trunks become protagonists.
The two young half-Saiyajin have grown up and are now teenagers as seen in the recent film. Dragon Ball Super 88 tells the story of the daily lives of Goten and Trunks, divided between school, friends, love and their work as superheroes. THE young Saiyaman X1 and Saiyaman X2 However, it seems that they still have a long way to go, especially considering that someone shows up in the chapter finale who will soon get in their way. In fact, Dr. Hedo, who appeared to be in possession of very important research that will affect the future of the saga.
What will happen in Dragon Ball Super 89? The opening chapter of this saga, which serves as both a prequel and a retelling of the superhero film, was very self-contained and showcased the new lives of the two boys. Given that Goten doesn’t have his Transfiguration Clock yet and Trunks’ isn’t working properly, it’s possible the two will decide to leave it in Pilaf’s hands once again, with Bulma’s son also hoping to conquer Mai. It could therefore be a good time both to go to the villains’ hideout, to explain the origins of Hedo and Magenta, and to review Gohan and Piccolo to complete the picture that will lead to the evolution of the superhero Events.
Dragon Ball Super 89 will be released on Manga Plus on January 19, 2023.
