During the Goku Day celebrations, a resounding announcement shocked the community. As everyone expected the animated series to return, Toei Animation surprised the fandom by announcing a new one Dragon Ball super movie. Finally there is new information about the film, which should be released in 2022.
Although the announcement was over a month ago, the launch window of the next Dragon Ball Super movie has been removed we don’t know anything yet. According to Akira Toriyama, who commented on the reveal, this film will be completely different from the one that focuses on Broly. Based on this reasoning, the community has speculated that Dragon Ball Super 2022 will be based on time travel, prompting fans to relive some of the iconic moments of the saga.
This hypothesis appears to have been rejected by the movie’s new promo. In the latest issue of V-Jump, a monthly Japanese magazine published by Shueisha, Promotional material which concerned the previous films of the Toriyama and Toyotaro Opera.
On the pages of the magazine, which you can see at the bottom of the news, Dragon Ball Z – The Resurrection of “F”, Dragon Ball Z – The Battle of the Gods, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly are highlighted. As the user DBSHype reports, the next film should only “form a new story”. Therefore, the narrative should not tie in with previous stories, but rather make the audience experience it a whole new adventure. More juicy information is sure to leak out in the next versions of V-Jump.
Because of this, Gohan should be the protagonist of Dragon Ball Super 2022. Shueisha announced the Jump Victory Carnival 2021, an event where we will likely have news about Dragon Ball Super 2022.
Nothing new here except for the promo line: “DB Movie will carve a new history!” @ Inumaru08)
But it is a start. We can expect more promos and new information about the film in the upcoming issues of V jump.
