Akira Toriyama created a body of work that still influences many artists and designers today, almost 40 years after the release of the first chapter on Shonen Jump. dragon ball has a unique style, and as hard as it is to imagine Goku and his companions any other way, a fan of the series took a stab at the venture.

In the years Dragon Ball has been adorned with an impressive amount of fan art and designs signed by the community, also imagining the most varied transformations and fusions. But what user @bentoDRAWS was trying to do was revisit the main characters with one completely different style by that of Master Toriyama and by Toyotaro, designer of the Dragon Ball Super manga.

In the illustration that you can see at the bottom of the page, the artist has reinterpreted it Krillin, Future Trunks, Goku, Piccolo, Gohan and Vegeta with a style reminiscent of the style of today’s Western comics on the one hand and the clean yet detailed designs of some anime-style video games on the other.
