In 1984, the manga world was shaken forever with the release of the series Dragon ball, written and drawn by the current master Akira Toriyama, who subsequently received an animated rendition that was divided into two parts, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. However, just a week after completing Z, the “sequel” made its debut. Dragon Ball GT

The series in question arrived on Fuji TV on February 7, 1996 and intended to tell the continuation of Goku’s adventures, starting five years after the final events of Dragon Ball Z. Uub followed the teachings of the protagonist and became a fighter with incredible abilities and skills, and exactly when Goku explains his during training Pilaf and his allies sneak into God’s sanctuary to steal the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Pilaf mistakenly expresses a wish for Goku to become small again, and immediately afterwards the balls rise and then land in the most hidden corners of the universe. It is later discovered that planet earth will be destroyed if they are not reunited within a year of the wish. Therefore Goku will go on a journey with Trunks and his niece Panand will take part in intense fights to say the least, where he will also show off the new Super Saiyan 4 form.

Although the story was written entirely by Toei Animation, Akira Toriyama supervised the entire productionas was the case with the animated transpositions and films made earlier. Toriyama also chose the title of the series, stating that the letters GT stand for great tourThis underlines the constantly presented topic of travel. The original Dragon Ball writer did also worked on the design of many charactersincluding the Giru robot, but also the Capsule Corp spacecraft, which helped the protagonists switch from one system to another.

Although Dragon Ball GT still divides the community between those who think it is a fun and decent series and those who have a particular dislike for too many and extravagant ideas from the writers, Toriyama himself congratulated the staff several times, especially with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru who created many of the final designs.

Finally it must be said that since Troiyama GT has been defined as “A great story parallel to the original Dragon Ball” Nobody considers this series to be a true and canonical sequel, a position held by the newer Dragon Ball Super. Remember that Dragon Ball GT is back on Italia 2 late at night and that we leave you to the epic entry into the scene from Gogeta SSJ4.
