Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba it quickly became a real media phenomenon. After the release of the movie Demon Slayer: The Mugen Train, Tanjiro Kamado and his companions have become iconic, and with the second season of the anime, the popularity of the story conceived by Koyoharu Gotoge has reached impressive heights.
The latest major achievement regarding the series came from the collaboration between the three most-visited monthly magazines in Japan, viz Newtype by Kadokawa, Animage by Tokuma Shoten and Animedia by Gakken Plus. It is unique in the history of Japanese comics and, given the competition between the editors who take care of the magazines’ content, it could also remain the only collaboration of this kind for many years. Newtype actually commented: “It’s the first and probably the last time we’ve tried something like this, but it was only possible thanks to Demon Slayer.”
When the covers are placed side by side, they create a great illustration depicting all the protagonists, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu Pillar of Tengen Uzui Sound and the main antagonists of season two: Daki and Gyutaro, brothers who share the title Sixth Crescent Moon.
