Demon Hunter tells the story of the coal seller turned hero Kamado Tanjiro who has fought many heroic battles for the good of mankind, but what drives him the most is this tries to restore his little sister Nezuko's humanity. Tanjiro is a wonderfully protective brother, but he's not the only one.

Tanjiro is also a compassionate hunter, listening to each demon's personal story before it dies, and many of these demons are internally vulnerable and injured. They all had someone of value and now the powerful sixth demon of the crescents Gyutaro has someone to protect: his sister Daki. He's what Tanjiro could have become under different circumstances, and deep down, Tanjiro really identified with him.

Tanjiro and Nezuko make a great team, and few, if any, of the other Demon Slayer characters have the same situation. Most demon hunters fight alone and do not fight for others, and most demon hunters only fight for their duty and have no one to protect.

Tanjiro is an easily identifiable shonen hero who fights for his beloved sister, but now he has met his counterpart. Gyutaro and Daki are a brother and sister team who share the rank of sixth crescent.

But these two demons are more than a pivotal battle for the saga: They also represent what the Kamado family could have been. Nezuko is already a full-fledged demon with a wild side, and if things had turned out differently, maybe Tanjiro could have gone down the same path.

When Muzan attacked the family, there was no way Tanjiro could have fought him off, and if Muzan hadn't just killed Tanjiro, but turned him into a demon, and The two surviving Kamadoes would have been a brother and sister demonic team, just like Gyutaro and Daki are now..

Given that, they would even have the same interpersonal dynamic Tanjiro was very protective of Nezuko even before she became a demon. It is possible that a demon could have agreed to Tanjiro becoming an underling of Muzan so that he would gain the power he needs to defend Nezuko.

Seeing Nezuko's strength in Demon Slayer 2x13, The two might have been on the way to becoming Moons of Muzan. Even if Tanjiro rejected Muzan and teamed up with Nezuko, they would still have a Daki Gyutaro dynamic and would be the target of demon hunters wherever they went without Muzan's protection.

Anyway, Gyutaro and Daki prove that demon teams of brothers and sisters are a reality, and Tanjiro saw what could have become of him and Nezuko. All of this is evidenced by a few moments from the final episode of Demon Slayer, as you can see below.

Finally we leave you the news that Demon Slayer 2x18 will last twice as long and we remind you that you can watch Demon Slayer 2 episodes on Crunchyroll.
