Daredevil # 25, the latest in the lineup from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, has staged a new defender of Hell’s Kitchen, now that Matt Murdock is unable to take action. The vigilante group is currently behind bars and may face a long prison sentence. but in his absence there is a woman who watches over the citizens of New York.
In case you need to refresh your memory, we will remind you Matt Murdock recently called in after breaking his ruleand now he is in prison with many inmates whom he himself has arrested in the past and who have been forced to serve two years for involuntary murder.
On the last outing, an old Daredevil flame visited him in prison and asked for help in defeating The Hand. The girl in question is Elektra Natchioswho, in a final attempt, asks Matt to escape with her and defeat the criminal organization. Murdock, however, is immobile, and he asks Elektra to prove to him that she is a new personand no longer the murderer from before.
Elektra realizes that she cannot defeat The Hand on her own and that she must first show him that she deserves his trust if she wants the help of Hell’s kitchen. Wearing a new mask and a renewed costume, Elektra then decides to take Daredevil’s place like Iron Fist did in the past, and watch over the city until the hero returns. On the final pages, the woman decides to stun two criminals instead of killing them, and shows the first signs of real change.
