After only five episodes devoted to the story arc of Code's attack, the anime of Boruto: Naruto Next Generation was interrupted in one of the most heartbreaking scenes in all of history involving the Seventh Hokage's son. Simply titled "Good bye', the episode aired on TV Tokyo yesterday, March 26, 2023, leaving many fans in shock. Even as he watched the amazed and devastated faces of Naruto and Shikamaru, it seemed at first that Boruto was truly dead. However, thanks to the sacrifice of much of Karma, Momoshiki managed to bring young Uzumaki back to lifehowever, deprives himself of the opportunity to regain control of his body.

The rest of the episode shows the aftermath of Kawaki's actions and what seems to be the meeting between the two close friends Call for their confrontation in the future, seen in the flashforward that started the series.
