The narrative arc of the Thousand Years’ War, Tite Kubo’s last Shonen opera, has finally exploded in the bleach anime series. In the initial phase of this new fight, the protagonist Kurosaki Ichigo will receive a special honorary title.

In the first two episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, viewers returned to Soul Society along with Ichigo and his companions and discovered a new threat, that of the Wandenreich. Hueco Mundo has already been invaded and very soon the same fate will befall the society of the soul.

In the third part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, the invasion begins with the Star Knights attack. Ichigo, however, was Lured away from Soul Society for a very specific reason.

When he arrives in Hueco Mundo to answer Nel’s distress call, Substitute Shinigami faces a fearsome foe, Quilge Opie. Before the clash between them begins, Quincy claims to already know Ichigo very well, as reported by his superiors is considered a “particular threat”.

Ichigo was given this honorary title by the Quincys because he had recently confronted a mysterious arrancar who was trying to steal his bankai. That Wandenreich has been keeping an eye on Ichigo, who considered him such a formidable opponent that he did not begin the attack on Soul Society until he arrived in Hueco Mundo. His role in this war will therefore be crucial.
