The Kentaro Miura era ended with Chapter 364 of Berserk. His latest work epically closes a story that may never have a sequel. However, we can remember with affection – and sometimes with horror – everything that has happened in the course of the published volumes of the manga.
Gatsu and his companions faced many creatures, especially the apostles. The monsters made it difficult for the protagonists of Berserk and beyond. But what are they Stronger apostles appeared in Berserk? Here are the top 5, from worst to best.
Let’s start with the manga’s first major enemy, The count. After we had a little glimpse into the world of Berserk with the first monstrous fight between Gatsu and the Baron, Kentaro Miura immediately leads us to a fortress, where we witness a bloody and terrible battle. However, the creature eventually had to give up, despite its strength and size, which was superior to that of the Black Warrior.
The ranking continues with Wyald, one of the apostles who appeared in the golden age flashback. The leader of the Black Dogs is monstrous and fierce, only thanks to the intervention of Zodd, who managed to ensure the safety of the members of the Hawk Squad. In third place we enter Grunbeld, one of the strongest swordsmen and apostles in Griffith’s service. The creature brought Gatsu into crisis during their confrontation, with Berserk’s protagonist only surviving thanks to his armor.
Second place instead of for Zodd the Immortal, one of the apostles we have known longest. Extremely strong and fast, it can keep up with almost anyone in battle. Finally in first place is Ganishka, the apostle who rose to a whole different level and became a unique creature. Only Griffith, taking advantage of the Knight of the Skull, was able to kill him and started the story of Fantasia.
There are plenty of other monsters that Kentaro Miura featured in his manga: you can remember them with our recap of Berserk.
