Berserk represents one of the highest levels of Japanese comics. Kentaro Miura has managed to build a memorable dark fantasy universe with well-characterized characters, including obviously the tormented protagonist Gatsu and the charismatic antagonist Grifis, first captain of the Team of Hawks and then a member of the Hand of God.
Often counted among the best villains ever written in manga history and especially of being today, Grifis has managed to surprise both the protagonist and the reader on various occasions and gradually demonstrate his true essence, that of a leader who is ready to sacrifice the lives of his companions for one to attain inhuman and unimaginable power. Despite his questionable morals, Grifis fits perfectly into the legal orientation of evil, relating to paper role playing games at Dungeons & Dragons.
As the archetype among the most mysterious and fascinating of the vast panorama of paper and non-paper role-playing games, that of the evil lawyer presents an interpretive challenge for many gamers and masters, especially to assert an attitude consistent with the regulations they adhere to, and at the same time bring out the malice that makes them act.
Only by going through the chapters do we understand the reason for the actions of Grifis, guilty of torture, massacre and violence inflicted on the knights who considered him a great and reliable captain. Obviously, handles could actually fall into the defined category Legally neutralwhen we consider the events of the Golden Age narrative arc. But under this facade already this mercenary he idealized the rise to power and used the trust of Gatsu and the others to him as a mere means of gaining prestige in the Midlands.
A plan developed for years, crowned with the solar eclipse and its transformation into Phemto, a member of the hand of God and archenemy of Gatsu, and the final shift to the direction of righteous evil.
