In the second volume of The Joker, we finally discover who the mysterious Cressida is, the woman who hired former Commissioner Jim Gordon to hunt down Gotham City’s criminal clown. What is his true identity and why is he trying to eliminate itBatman’s eternal rival?

In The Joker # 2, former Gotham City Police Station detective Jim Gordon visits Batman and his daughter Barbara, whose secret identity he knows, for assistance in the clown hunt. In the first volume of this series, Gordon was hired by Cressida, a mysterious woman who claimed to represent the most powerful families in town. Apparently, however, Cressida’s real last name is Clarke, a last name that has made a huge impact in Gotham City. And also within the Court of the Owls.

Made up of some of the most powerful, influential, and wealthy families in the city, the Owl Court is the secret cabal out there has controlled Gotham for centuries. Thanks to a dense network of properties, the Eulenhof has caves and secret passages that are scattered across the entire metropolis, as well as a dangerous group of assassins.

Bruce Wayne himself was also a victim of the Court of Owl’s attacks on the Night of the Owls event. The group was believed to have narrowly escaped their assassinations blown away by the Batman who laughs. However, it appears that some members of the court survived.

The owl court seems to have reorganized its ranksAccess to the group for previously ashamed families like Cressida. They are now ready to regain what they believe to be their property by putting an end to the Joker.

What will the consequences of this collision be? Here is Jim Gordon’s new life in Batman, from cop to bounty hunter. Years later, Bruce Wayne is back as Matches Malone in Batman.
