Detective Comics #1062, historical newspaper whose pages appeared in May 1939 Batman, marked the beginning of a new era for the Dark Knight. In just two volumes, screenwriter Ram V. and artist Rafael Albuquerque managed to change some pretty relevant details, including the origins of Arkham Asylum.
One of the changes that was particularly appreciated by the public was the change in style of Two-Face, and somehow the background to the birth of Arkham Asylum is related to the attackers of Harvey Dent. Known as the Orgham, these individuals are deeply connected to Gotham and played a pivotal role in the city’s past when it changed its name several centuries ago.
The Orgham became Arkham, and as many of you know, Amadeus Arkham built the famous asylum that is the focus of many stories and the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum that launched the hit Rocksteady series. Now the group intends to take control of the land they technically own, although that’s not clear yet what they intend to do with the criminals at the facilitythey may have wanted Two-Face to return to put him in charge.
This isn’t a complete rewrite of Arkham Asylum’s origins, but somehow the new writers wanted it Expand the story behind the Arkham family, and this could lead to possible stories from other Orgham members in the future. Tell us what you think in the comments.
