At home, Marvel Comics is preparing for its debut Avengers Forever, a new comic series devoted to the subject a group of multiversal Avengers. In the preview of the first edition, which will be released on December 22, 2021, we get to know one of these alternate Avengers: it’s Tony Stark, the invincible Ant-Man.
Avengers Forever opens the events of Avengers # 750, a celebratory number that marked a return to the past for She Hulk, among others. In Avengers # 750 the Lords of Evil of the Multiverse made their debut, consisting of Supreme Doom, Kid Thanos, Dark Phoenix, King Killmonger, Ghost Goblin (a Norman Osborn with the powers of Ghost Rider) and Black Skull (a Red Skull owned by the Venom symbiote).
To fight a team of multiverse villains, you need a group of multiverse heroes, and here comes Avengers Forever, a series written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Aaron Kuder. In the preview of the first edition (available below) we meet an alternate Tony Starkwho instead of Iron Man’s armor has become Ant-Man instead. And that’s not all: this Tony Stark is in possession of a potentially devastating weapon called the Knowhere Gun, the it is nothing but the miniaturized head of a heavenly one.
It looks like Marvel has plans to do it the role of the multiverse becomes more and more important in his stories: So it is no coincidence that the alternate universes are at the center of the plot of products like Loki, Doctor Strange 2 and also the latest Spider-Man movie that is currently in theaters. And audiences seem to appreciate it: in fact, No Way Home is the third best box office debut in history.
