there Story of Attack on Titan is now known to everyone. Young Eren Jaeger, a boy who lives in the walled district of Shiganshina and dreams of slaying all the giants in order to finally explore the outside world, faces death, which materializes in the horrific massacre of his mother.

From then on, Eren will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal, and the first step, of course, is to join the Reconnaissance Army, led by Erwin Smith at the time. The protagonist of The Attack of the Giants will then embark on the path known to all audiences, both that of the manga and that of the anime, with the situation that has arisen at the moment with Eren's march towards freedom and death. but what would have happened if Eren had failed to join the Reconnaissance Army?

Author Hajime Isayama answered this question in a recent interview. In fact, in the first volumes, Eren enters the training department during training, but is unable to properly control the three-dimensional maneuvering device due to a defect. At that moment he risked being sent home because he was unfit for war. What would happen next? Prodded by the question, the mangaka said the following.

"I think Eren would have lived a miserable life. He would live an unsatisfactory life, to be honest. And in Paradis it would probably have continued to be suppressed or died out without being able to do anything. Or he would have lived without knowing that his life was about to end. He could have lived to be 13."

In fact, by that time, Eren had already gotten the Attack Giant from his father and thus had a limited life. So, the protagonist of the manga and anime would not have found other paths and would have been destined for an insignificant life.
