Bad news for all readers of The Attack of the Giants. The full-color edition of the manga announced last November will indeed not be complete. but reserved for a limited number of chapters. Kodansha said the first color chapter, issue 46, would be published in the February issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine.
After the announcement in November, many fans hoped to get their hands on a complete full-color variant, a real gem that is highly desired by collectors. Unfortunately we have to be satisfied with a much leaner selection. Reserved only for the chapters that shaped the history of the manga.
Against this background, Chapter 46 with the title “Apertura” in the Italian edition represents a very special choice it only shows the four-way dialogue between Reiner, Bertholdt, Eren and Ymir in the forest outside the Wall Maria, immediately after the great revelation about the armored giant and the colossal. For the first chapter in color, it would have been reasonable to expect number one or the surprising chapter 42, but apparently the publisher has other plans.
The first color chapter will be published in the March issue of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine on February 9, 2021 along with chapter 137 of The Attack of the Giants. The titles and publication dates of the other eleven color chapters will be announced in the following months.
The full color version “Attack on Titan” consists of 12 selected chapters.
