Based on the tower defense video game of the same name popular on mobile devices, Arknights is getting an anime adaptation soon, which will be aired by Crunchyroll. In fact, the streaming entertainment platform has officially announced that the debut of Prelude to Dawn will be added to its catalog by the end of October 2022.
Arknights: Prelude to Dawn Anime Adaptation Coming to Simulcast Streaming on Crunchyroll starting October 28th. This adds another piece to the already very rich autumn range of Sony’s own platform.
Inspired by the video game Arknights published by Hypergryph, the anime is set in a sci-fi world where rare but devastating catastrophes have forced the populace to seek refuge in nomadic cities. On the other hand, these disasters produce a rare mineral called Originium, as precious as deadly. Those who are exposed to Originium for long periods of time are actually afflicted by a disease called Oripatia. Those infected are treated by a traveling medical company called Rhodes Island. However, a terrorist organization Reunion Movement is fighting against the island of Rhodes. The Arknights trailer immerses viewers in this dark fantasy world.
The Arknights: Prelude to Dawn anime is Directed by Yuki Watanabe at animation studio Yostar Pictures. In 2019, a nine-minute anime short called Arknights: Holy Knight Light was released.
