The official YouTube channel of Double engine posted the full promo video for the prologue portion of the animation project in full Kurayukabawhich is based on the original story by the independent creator Shigeyoshi Tsukahara. The video shows the voices of the characters Tanne for the first time (AV: Tomoyo Kurosawa) and Saki (AV: Yuu Serizawa), next to the protagonist Soutaro (AV: Hakuzan-Kanda).

Kurayukaba is a steampunk detective fantasy, the concept of which is supposed to take over 40 minutes. The fundraiser for the project raised a total of 15,700,364 yen (approximately US $ 142,600) through two campaigns in 2018 and 2020. The pilot film, which was shot with funds from the first round of crowdfunding, was published on YouTube in April 2020.

The prologue of the feature film, created with the funds from the second round of crowdfunding, was then also successfully completed and will be shown from August 13 to 26, 2021 in the Ikebukuro Free Cinema hall in Tokyo together with the films and the pilot film.

Production team

  • Shigeyoshi Tsukahara (Hashi no Mukou, Kotatsu Neko, Oshie to Tabi Suru Otoko, Arms Rally) is responsible for project management during the course pancakes, and is also responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
