The editorial office Alphapolis announced that the light novels were written by Howahova Shiina and illustrated by Yamaada, A playthrough of a certain guy’s VRMMO life (Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki), will have an anime adaptation. The press release revealed a promotional image for the project, but did not include production details or a planned release date.
The author Howahova Shiina shared a message following the announcement:
- Β«When I heard they were doing the anime adaptation I thought it was a joke. I’ve been waiting for my novels to be adapted into anime, but I never thought that would actually happen. I’m even touched by the fact that the characters I’ve created are animated. I hope you too will enjoy the heartwarming adventures of Earth and her friends.Β».
Howahova Shiina And Yamaada began publishing the light novels through the publisher Alphapolis in January 2014 while Shuusai Rikudou is responsible for the manga adaptation that he publishes on the service AlphaPolis web manga since June 2014. This means that these light novels got their anime adaptation almost a decade after they started publication.
