Aniplex is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sword Art Online, but also recently presented A Raven in the Harem, an animated adaptation of the novel by Koko Shirakawa. The series will debut in the fall: here are all the details that have been revealed so far.
Known as the original Kokyu no Karasu, the novel debuted in Japan in 2018. It currently has a total of six published volumes, with a seventh volume coming out on April 21st. On the same day, Aniplex publishes the First teaser of the anime adaptation. The premiere is planned for October.
That’s from A Raven in the Harem a very respectable cast. The series will be directed by Chizuru Miyawaki, who has already signed Gintama, at lo Animation studio BN Pictures. Satomi Ooshima is supervising the script, while Shinji Takeuchi (Fairy Tail and Gintama) is adapting Ayuko’s illustrated character designs for animation. Asami Tachibana, OST manager of DARLIG at FRANXX and Haikyuu!, is composing the music. In the cast we find Saku Mizuno, Masaaki Mizunaka, Taku Yahsiro and Marika Kono in the role of Jusetsu Ryo, Koshun Ka, Eisei and Jiujiu. Aniplex is also busy with Project Engage.
The plot of the novel series revolves around Uki, a imperial concubine who, however, was never summoned to the emperor’s bedroom, but only to the chambers of the harem. She was viewed by some as an older woman. From others, like a young girl. Uki is actually capable of wielding a mysterious magic that aids her in everything from simply finding objects to inflicting curses. When for a circumstance she is recalled by the Emperor himselftheir meeting changes history.
