The official website for the anime adaptation of Hiroshi Noda’s manga, illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu, “No Longer Allowed in Another World” (Isekai Shikkaku), has released the first promotional video for the project.

The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for 2024 in Japan, although specific production details are yet to be announced.

The Manga and its Creators

Noda and Wakamatsu began publishing the manga in October 2019 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine. The creative duo is also responsible for the manga “Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de” (Love After World Domination), serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine since October 2019. It inspired an anime adaptation produced by Project No.9 and aired during the Spring 2022 season (April-June).

Synopsis of “No Longer Allowed in Another World”

Imagine an adventure in another world, surrounded by beautiful girls and possessing video game-like powers. It might sound like an anime fan’s dream, right? Well, not for the melancholic author Osamu Dazai, who would prefer to drop dead literally. Transported to another world in 1948, long before video games even existed, he finds that all the fantastic adventures he encounters only get in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his life, everything seems to turn out fine. Follow a miserable hero like no other in this cheerful and somber isekai comedy.
