During the event Aniplex Online Fest 2022 The production of an animated film adaptation of the light novels written by General Urobuchi and illustrated by Higashiguchi Chuuou, iron wings (Steel wings). The press release confirmed that the production is being handled by the studios A-1 Pictures.
Urobuchi shared a special message to celebrate the announcement he wrote:
- Once upon a time there was an Eroge company called NITRO PLUS. The screenwriter put forward a proposal about a competition on a distant world between a kite and an airplane to determine what the real supremacy of the sky was. The company’s president asked the author to turn his proposal into an hour-long anime project. So the screenwriter panicked and rushed to add more content to the proposal. But time passed and the project was never discussed again. Eventually it faded from memory.
- Some time later, the screenwriter who had been linked to Gagaga Bunko recalled an idea that had long been shelved. Inspired, he revised the long-abandoned proposal into a two-volume novel. Shortly thereafter, Aniplex offered the screenwriter to adapt his resurrected play into a feature film. And so, after almost twenty years, “Eisen Flügel” could finally become the feature film it was always supposed to be. And they all lived happily everafter.
