As Thor prepares to hit the 750 issue milestone with the release of Thor #24, Marvel Comics Announces Thor and Venom Collaboration Plans. The King of Asgard and the King in Black will join forces in a two-part story from screenwriter Donny Cates, to be released in Thor #27 next July.
Donny Cates is the current screenwriter of The Adventures of the God of Thunder, but he is also the author of it in recent years it has redefined the mythology of the black symbiote giving it a decidedly more cosmic connotation. Joining Cates in the creation of this story is artist Salvador Larroca, who replaces the magazine’s lead artist Nic Klein, who will cover the issue and return in his role in issue #29.
“We are very happy to count on the legendary Salvador Larroca as the artist of this story!“announces editor Wil Moss.”Donny thought he was done with Venom, but the incredible work done by Ram V, Al Ewing and Bryan Hitch on their Venom series gave Donny an idea for a story that would merge Thor’s world with Venom’s and exciting way collide way“.
The release of Gate number 27 (of which we share the cover below) is set for July 27, 2022. The collaboration between Thor and Venom it then ends the following month with Thor #28. In any case, Venom won’t be the only Marvel character to cross the Thunder God’s path: a crossover between Thor and Hulk is indeed on the way.
