Today moving news spread to the whole community of enthusiasts. The animation master Masami Suda died at the age of 77 after a long illness. He was responsible for the animated series of Ken the warrior, but also numerous other relevant works from the 1980s and 1990s.
Masami Suda was actually going to die August 1, 2021, but as is customary in Japan during these tragic events, the widespread one was only distributed today to allow family and friends to experience their pain in private.
Born in Saitama Prefecture, Suda started working in the animation industry at Tatsunoko. Subsequently appointed by TOEI Animation, he confirmed himself as one of the best character designers of his time. The Japanese artist was the character designer and animation director of the anime for Ken the Warrior and Hurricane Polymar. In the course of his career he has also worked as an important supervisor and animator on the implementations of Slam Dunk and, most recently, Yo-Kai Watch.
This shocking news follows that of Enzo Facciolo, legendary illustrator of Diabolik, and Kentaro Miura, author of Berserk. In her company, Masami Suda will breathe life into the best works.
