Many mangaka in Japan are recognized for bringing years of mainstream and promotional history to the public that is gaining the recognition of many fans. And then there is something else Naoki Urasawa, a writer who deals with stories that are always different and of medium duration, but always able to inspire and entertain.
Born on January 2, 1960, Naoki Urasawa is 61 years old. Inspired by Osamu Tezuka, the mangaka began its career at Beta in 1983 and from then on many other series came: Pineapple Army, Yawara (also known as Jenny – The Judo Girl in Italy), Master Keaton, GlΓΌcklich, until two mangas arrived in the 90s who have become holy monsters: 20th century monsters and boys.
These two may be the ones most important manga of Naoki Urasawa’s career and certainly two of the most cherished by the comic book public. Regarding this thriller bracket, Urasawa Tezukas reinvented astroboy by creating Pluto and then moving on to the new original manga Billy Bat. Urasawa is still working on manga today. After we brought Mujirushi, which Planet Manga will bring to Italy in 2021, it is us focusing on the publication of Asadora. But beyond the manga, Urasawa could be involved in the anime of any of his works, as a recent interview shows.
