An “annoying” romantic comedy

Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! is an anime based on the self-titled manga written and illustrated by To take. Manga, of which I have quite advanced knowledge, but I will try not to mention certain spoilers. Focuses on the daily lives of two students: Shinichi Sakurai and Hana Uzaki. Mainly show the jokes and nuisances that Sakurai “receives” when she is next to her.

The plot doesn’t seem to be very deep. Despite the maturity that the protagonists might have, they have a much more serious relationship with clearer future plans. Not surprisingly, this is one of Anime’s attractions and shows that it doesn’t always have to be such a serious story. And even if it’s more about comedy, it doesn’t mean that it will be missing in dramatic or serious moments in history.

Whether the story is good or not is up to everyone. But I personally think the anime that comes closest to its kind of story and protagonist would be Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san. And yet it doesn’t quite resemble the subject, just the subject where the girl teases the boy.

Instead of waiting for this dramatic moment story, I hope it will make me fun and entertaining for as long as possible. has done so far Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1.

Girl annoys boy

As already mentioned, the protagonists of this series are Hana Uzaki and Shinichi Sakurai. A small but lush Kouhai and a friendly Senpai with an intimidating look. As such, it’s not the first time in an anime that characters like this appear at least aesthetically. For example it is Hestia (DanMachi) Fulfilling the role of Loli lush. While Takuma Akutsu (Val x love) would be an example similar to Sakurai. However, there are little details in these characters that I think make them unique in their own way.

Hana Uzaki, the energetic, smiling and annoying Kouhai. To have an aesthetic appearance that could easily be provocative for many. However, your personality is the counterbalance in the balance, since not many could stand it. Push the jokes to their limits. To the point that it seems to me, some are involuntary, mainly because of the way they speak. Of course, not all of these “involuntary” jokes seem to be, since they also confuse me as to whether that was really their goal or not.

I personally like the kind of personality that Uzaki has. Of course not quite, well, I’m not a big fan and fan of happy girls. But I like his “joker” side more in his personality. Although it is too early to define his personality. The truth is that while Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1 I felt that after seeing him all the time, she became more energetic and smarter towards Sakurai. Was it just kindness? Or did you do it subconsciously to get closer to him?

Naomi Oozora It is the Seiyuu that gives Uzaki a voice. Other jobs have like: Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell (Gabriel DropOut!), Norika Mizuyama (Momokuri), Kiriha (Tsugumomo), Chio Miyamo (Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro), among other.

I honestly have to confess that Uzaki’s voice doesn’t convince me because I expected it to be a much more garish tone. Maintaining the same accent as now, but with a higher voice. Well, with this Topno and his personality, I can only remember Kiriha (Tsugumomo) and the wound left by the second season burns again.

Shinichi Sakurai, the friendly, lonely and intimidating-looking Senpai. His appearance, especially the natural expression of his face, is a great stereotype for this character. Because they appear intimidating in connection with a healthy body due to their participation in sports clubs in the middle and upper grades. However, I think this has caused his personality to be so much friendlier than you would expect. A book should not be judged by its cover.

Personally, I felt identified with many of his actions and statements. Both those who openly show it and those who freely suppress it. I also share a lot of opinions he has, such as his way of seeing the solo time that everyone wants. I also envy your VR experience, though I don’t know if it was karma or dharma that experienced such softness.

The Seiyuu that gives you a voice is Kenji Akabanewho did it with: Kizuna Hida (Masou Gakuen HxH), Manufacturer (The [email protected]), among other.

Sakurai’s voice did not convince me at first, but after I saw it again Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1 felt more natural, more hers.

Both protagonists seem to be water and oil, but there is only one step from hatred to love.

Technical details of Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!

The studio that is responsible for the animation of Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! is the study ENGI. A fairly new study that only has the animated customization of as a previous project Hataage! Kemono Michi. So there is no long track record that could confirm a constant animation quality or a distinctive flair.

But see the animation used in Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1 I can’t say it’s bad. Overall it was very good. It is not perfect, but it is much more than acceptable. Well, there are moments when the animation looks a little strange depending on the focus of the scene and the shot. Or maybe it just seems to me. For example, when Sakurai walks through the halls of the campus after her class has been canceled. I have a feeling that the background in the scene is not fully aligned with the speed of your walk.

Another example, just moments later, when Uzaki begins to follow him on his lonely walk. I think the way of going from both is strange. This time because they move their hips when walking, because it seems to me that they are turning too much. Maybe making your walk look more natural is an effect, but for some reason this movement feels strange no matter how often you see it.

As focused for animation ecchi and the fanservice I have to admit that I haven’t seen much Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1. Especially the ecchiI really don’t feel like I saw scenes during the episode. The fan service felt pretty controlled for him and mainly appeared in only three scenes: when Uzaki was sitting in the massage chair with his stiff shoulders; if it is on a device that is like a complete training session after 10 minutes; and if Sakurai the “softness” of the VR.

Although these scenes had that fan service touch, I didn’t feel like evaluating the scene or anime as one Ecchi. I just saw it as another fan service in every anime. After all, although it doesn’t seem like it, every anime can (and may) have (and may have) a similar fan service. Ecchi within their genres. And that makes me wonder about him ecchi and much more pronounced fan service that comes later. The fear is censored, changed or even left out.

In terms of sound range, I feel in average condition. The musicality and sound effects are not bad, but I would not say that they are also very good. The quality is decent, but I don’t think they always match what is happening on site.

During the opening and the end I have to admit that I enjoyed the opening more “Nadame Sukashi negotiation () だ め ス か し negotiation)” from Kano and Uzaki-chan (Naomi Oozora) that the end “Kokoro Knock (コ コ ロ ノ ッ ク)” from YuNi. Mainly due to the fact that the opening is happier and more active in both text and animation. In my opinion, the end is perfect for a farewell, but not the chapter, but the series itself.

my first impression

I believe that Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! It won’t be one of the best anime this season. Although I don’t think it will be bad either. It will stay in the middle and go unnoticed by many. Although it has the potential to attract attention, there are two very good reasons for doing so. But it all depends on how loyal your manga customization will be and how Fan service/.ecchi that comes in there.

Of course, if there’s anything that should get more attention in this anime, it’s for comedy. Either because of Uzaki’s jokes and annoyances, spontaneous moments in the scenes or because of the misunderstandings that will arise. And at the moment I have to confess that this part fulfills it. After all that Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! – Chapter 1 kept me entertained and fun throughout the episode. As my favorite moment, the cat’s eye eyed, more specifically when it has a surprised expression. It really made me laugh at how absurd it looked.

I am looking forward to the next chapters and will find out how faithful the adaptation to the manga will be. At the moment I know that important minor characters will emerge in the next chapter in the development of the story and in the relationship between Uzaki and Sakurai.
