Princess Connect! Re:Dive 2 – Chapter 9: Menu 9 – Hearts drawing closer, souls crossing ~crepes with an auspicious taste~
Pecorine is nervous about telling Karyl the truth and misses her chance to do so before Karyl leaves for a while. While Karyl, Kokkoro, and Yuuki stay at the guild house, Karyl visits Her Majesty, who has trouble sleeping and stays by her side. When he wakes up, he talks to her about some Onigiri which he prepared for them and ate together at the end.
When she returns to the others, Karyl is dragged by them to a festival being held at the market and they all have fun together. There they meet Rino and Shizuru, as well as Labyrista. With whom Yuuki speaks alone again, promising that this time he will protect her.
Pecorine spent all day talking to Karyl but was never able to do so despite having Kokkoro’s support and allowing them to be alone. Meanwhile, Labyrista speaks to Her Majesty and faces her alone while the other members of the ‘Labyrinth Guild‘ held them back the shade, Her Majesty’s main power source. Though she seemed to have the upper hand, a sudden appearance from Karyl in the fight and an attack from behind left Queen Labyrinth in very bad shape.

Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 9 shows them in a much more prominent aspect, specifically the leader of the guild, Labyrista or Queen Labyrinth, a ‘seven crowns‘. While this isn’t his first appearance in the anime, I don’t recall speaking about its members back then, particularly Labyrista, who has always been much more reserved towards others. Looks like a simple pancake seller.

By the way, Jun’s scene is exactly how I imagined the plot would be if he had his solo chapter. I mean when she was helped by the ‘Gourmet Guild‘ with the matter of his armour. At Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 9 had a bit of everything, plot advances, small advances in character development (showing a much more serious and engaged Yuuki), quiet moments and moments of suspense with action. While I appreciate each of them, I feel like they weren’t as perfect as I would have liked. Be the subject to handle the animation.
The animation remained of fairly good quality throughout the Mana vs. Labyrista fight. Compared to the quality shown in the arc in which the ‘Gourmet Guild‘ and the ‘Kaon Guild‘ Faced the golem and the large number of shadows, I feel that the one shown in it Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 9 was of lower quality. With more moments where it seemed kinda easy to keep the flow going.
This itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the vast majority of cases and other anime. Although I understand that maybe for that reason they couldn’t do it.
Finally, it was a shame that Pecorine Karyl couldn’t tell the truth during the episode. Although I won’t deny that it was nice to see her so nervous and to show the anxiety she feels at breaking up with someone so dear. But after watching the trailer for the next episode, the bond between the two is put to the test. Also, he hasn’t technically told Yuuki the truth yet.
We’re barely on episode 9 but I felt like this was episode 11 and the next one was the season finale. Or was I the only one who felt that way?
