Chapter 9: Black Amulet

The kidnapping doesn’t succeed, Myne’s father comes quickly and saves her and also Turi, who is left behind in Gilberta. Instead, the amulet Sylvester had given Myne had already been dipped in blood by the apprentice priest. They go to the cathedral to ask the high priest for help, he is not there, they have to flee because Dirk’s adoptive father wanted to see Myne, but their paths cross and the truth and the fight begin. They fight for possession of Myne, but she stands alone against the patriarch and the foreign earl, though the high priest suddenly arrives, who must accuse Myne unless she agrees to be Sylvester’s daughter because of the amulet. He accepts and has carte blanche to capture the patriarch and confront the noble.

Chapter Opinion

I have to say: what a good chapter, honestly. The bad thing is that I think there is only one chapter left (sorry). What makes me happy is that they have put together the spices that were put together during this season like that of Sylvester, which is now becoming much more relevant. Also present is the question of the foreign nobles and the damage they want to do to Myne. The Jenni thing is acceptable, although it seems forced to me because I don’t see her on screen anymore, but her inclusion is fine because the hatred for Delia and Myne (which is envy in everything) is justified and justifies their interference . Although the fight wasn’t like a shaveIt doesn’t matter so much here, but where it leads.

It makes me write a section titled “The gods don’t care about the weak” just wondering how come these nobles continue to take advantage of it. Also, the existence of the gods in this world as I understand it is given. But I suppose if it happens in the next chapter, that’s the moment.

When the High Priest is not

Why is the patriarch “afraid” of the high priest? In a way he’s like the second in command of the Cathedral, and that must also be due to the mana he has. The point is that the patriarch waited until the high priest left to do the Dirk thing and, if he was right, the Myne thing too. Everything happens without the presence of the high priest, sort of guardian of Myne, and it seems that he has a certain grudge against the nobles, maybe the patriarch knows his story. But what is the high priest’s secret room where no one can interrupt him? I’m curious to know because he literally knew nothing and thought from what Myne said in the credits he just didn’t show up at the right time. In any case, only inappropriate things can be done without them.

Note Delia!

Delia is a hateful character and that’s her role and she does it well. But it still pisses me off that he’s after the patriarch, even though we’ve already seen in this chapter how horrifying practically making Dirk a slave can be. Because of her age, she’s the only one who can’t really appreciate how miserable she is. I hope the girl with the red hair makes a real difference with what happened to Dirk.

The patriarch and his noble companion are very alike, so much so that they seem like brothers. The enormous belly that both deal with. Generally, the characters intended to evoke disgust and rejection in us are drawn in this way. If so, we already know what the potential villains that follow can be like. Although Fett has an explanation as to why it is associated with evil, I would just like to point out that it is associated with greed and sloth, both sins and if I’m not even capital sins.

Mine is very broken

When the fight starts, everyone suffers from defending Myne, more than that they are totally skinny and haggard, as if already consumed. While Myne has mana to give away, even this mana-absorbing magic stone couldn’t control the mouse. Considering what the High Priest said, true Myne’s mana adds to current’s mana, the amount of mana is huge. What surprises me, however, is that Myne seems to manage to control the devourer and turn yellow and turn yellow again almost at will. In the end he didn’t do much because the High Priest came and stopped the fight, although we know from the given events that he will do something about the noble outsider.

Now that the mouse has decided to be adopted by Sylvester, what does the future hold? Will Sylvester show up in the next chapter? We will see. Likewise I will not be disappointed if the closure will be like this although to be honest I was expecting more.
