Chapter 10: Catching Up with the Wolf
They take out the explosives and prepare it to detonate, but only one manages to detonate. Kiroranke is surprised that no one comes out, but does not know that a tiger entered and that Sofia and her men faced this giant. Kiroranke manages to open another hole through which the prisoners flee, and the main hole meets Asirpa, whom she recognizes as Wilk’s daughter by her eyes. Together, the group will flee while stories are told for Asirpa to remember her father. On the other hand, Sugimoto and the company recognize what happened, go find their location and follow them. On the trip, Sugimoto meets his colleague and friend, the escapist.
Chapter Opinion
The highlight of the chapter, and interesting, was Wilk’s past, a past unknown to everyone, even his own daughter. When we know that something else about him saved the chapter a lot, we will talk about it in the subtitles. All in all it was a good chapter, only one thing I completely embedded: Where was Svetlana? We were told about her that she was in jail with Sofía, but when she showed up she disappeared. You embedded it in the story, maybe it would not have had such relevance, but nothing happens to her on either Sofía or Sugimoto’s side. They will most likely have left it out, although in that case they wouldn’t have given it that much screen time. Perhaps it could have been taken advantage of, but what is done is done.
Escape
The escape thing seemed a little lazy to me, let me explain. From previous chapters we were warned about the attack on Akou Prison, where they are dangerous prisoners for the Russian state. Why do they have such a weak defense system? The interns could have taken the prison anytime as there are few guards and no gunfire. Nor do I know if you were fooled with a much more planned escape and even a prolonged confrontation that would place one of the antagonists in a certain vulnerable position. None of this happened, everything was so simple it seemed ridiculous. In the end, Sofía escapes without any major problems and there the clash between Asirpa and her takes place where they recognize each other. An expression of affection includes both.
Find
Sugimoto and the rest hear the explosion and go after it. Upon arrival, they find an object that the dog smells with which they have already located the enemies. You are preparing for the journey, but the ice appears to be a fearless enemy for mobility. Sugimoto goes after them alone with the dog. Minutes earlier, Shiraishi had moved away from the group due to the fragmentation of the ice, and when he was on the verge of death, Sugimoto’s hand rescued him and met the two beings who previously competed and now became friends. What will this cause?
Wilk Horkew Oskani
The best thing about this chapter was knowing more about Wilk, his past and his thoughts. This was what had most of the content of the chapter. First: the confederation he wanted to form between Sakhalin and Hokkaido to unite the various indigenous peoples of the region, as unity will overcome adversity. Here he cites the Native American as an example, largely exterminated by the English colonists and then by the Americans themselves in their territorial expansion, and in large part because of what Wilk said there was no unity. This dream competes with Hijikata in seeking to make Hokkaido an independent state.
The second: his name. The names used to be magical symbols for the fortune of the child and his adult being. The names should be a reflection of his personality or what he should become. Therefore, the names among the stories we know are very appropriate. Lonely, calculating, cold, but loving with who should be. But overall he was one of those dreamers.
Hope the last showdown is more epic than today’s chapter, this anime deserves it.
