Chapter 7: Transformation
Gleipnir Chapter Seven, After having finished with the ritual, Claire finally manages to get some more information about her sister, but what she hears is contrary to the reality she knows. However, this is not the time to discuss such an issue, instead the group must deal with the disappearance of Shuichi and Yoshioka.
Originally,
both Shuichi and Yoshioka imagined that finding the wallet would not take much
time, that considering that no one would find it. Unfortunately, not only
had already been taken by someone else, but also this person belongs
Elena’s group, and without a doubt, this person is strong. However, trusting

If you have followed my reviews of Gleipnir (Thanks for your time), you will surely notice that I have not been so enthusiastic about it on more than one occasion. I have doubted the series and questioned its characters. However, seven has once again shown itself to be the lucky number for me.
I already knew pretty much everything that was going to happen in this episode from the moment I finished watching the sixth. The pattern was obvious: protagonist befriends a recently introduced character with whom he identifies in large numbers, this other character is weak, presumably unable to defend himself, there is a situation that puts the weak character in danger, right after meet and connect with the protagonist.
See what
I did there, I’m sure, if they take a considerable amount of time
watching anime, or maybe even less, a pattern similar to this occurs to you
and that it happened in another series. But what happens next? Generally, here
is where the protagonist proceeds to accompany or direct the secondary character
through this situation. Surely you can see where this leads. Yup, this
is the part where the supporting character is seriously injured or killed,
right in front of the protagonist.
Here they typically seek to cause additional trauma that forced a growth arc within the protagonist within the next few episodes. A change caused by guilt and powerlessness. I hate these patterns, but this is where Gleipnir shine for me. Yes, the situation developed just as I expected (and I hated it), but, the end result was quite to my liking.
There was already
been established that Shuichi is something immortal as long as he remains
transformed but the addition of like this can be merged with the one that this
within him, and that he can heal completely after this fusion is something that
I find it fascinating. Also, this merger seems quite adequate to me considering
to the character. Being empty, you will want to have something inside of you in order to
feel complete, but what could be better than that? Become one with that
literally inside you. The synergy between the characters’ personality
At this point it is just a rather grateful addition.
Here the
series I might have missed it entirely, but with the way he reversed a
pattern that I have come to hate, and turned it into an intense, action packed sequence
and emotions that would not normally be witnessed, I manage to completely catch myself.
Additional points for not having killed Yoshioka, despite being the option
Simple and accessible to progress Shuichi character in this series. This method
I like it more.
Contradictory reality
As
I’m talking about the things I hate in almost every story, let’s talk about the characters
with amnesia. This is just my opinion, but I’ve always found the use of characters
with amnesia or addition of this condition to the story as unnecessary
and irritating. At least if it is executed incorrectly, under the
inadequate conditions.
Something like starting the series just with this condition certainly gives for a couple of interesting scenarios, but sometimes, it does not make much difference to if you started with a protagonist who simply did not have knowledge of the place and people from the beginning. And unfortunately, many of these stories are always like this. Luckily with Gleipnir He did not even suspect that Shuichi had lost his memory.
That was a rather unexpected revelation and one that goes perfectly with the new information we’ve been getting from Elena. I admit that I underestimate her character a little, because she is certainly not a character so simply defined by archetypes. I’d even say it doesn’t even count as yandere and that that was a mistake on my part, although really that was something that was done on purpose.
With such an introduction
it would not be strange to reach such a conclusion, but while we observe and listen to it
the testimonies of those who know her, her situation begins to distort
quite. Similarly, this is where the pieces of the true mystery, one
of which we had no idea of its true nature, they begin to take their
place. It all starts with this girl and a lost past, to which she will not be able to return

Final Opinion
This is good
impulse. I am not convinced by some of the members of this group that was
introduced in the previous episode, but at least most should be enough
interest to justify their incorporation. I am more than sure that one of them caused
discord and it will be the typical cause that everything starts to go wrong, but those
characters don’t last long and it’s still missing for that so I don’t worry.
What if
I’m considering is the idea that this series has now become a hunt in
group and not an individual. From here I wonder if they were dedicated to trying to develop
the rest of the group, or if they will only be used as pawns, both for the series
as for Claire. Besides, I also wonder how Sanbe got in here. I
pleases the guy, so I hope they don’t keep it to him just for the end of the
series and a few fights before this one.
But hey
the fact is that factions have already begun to be introduced. At the moment we have
three groups, of which, it seems to me that only one has a clear objective, and unfortunately

It was somewhat morbid and disturbing, but with great effect. Moments before they merge, the image that appears in front of you on the screen really leaves you speechless.
Now later
to the merger, now if I see something to work with. Keep up the idea
of the monsters, but ultimately it is a more humane, gloomy and simple design
which takes great inspiration from Yoshioka’s characteristics, I like it. AND
well, adapting a single giant revolver to two pistols, I approve of the decision.
I hope they continue to work on the idea, either with Claire or Yoshioka,
I really have no preference here (of course I do !!!). I feel that the
series could afford to continue both using Shuichi, with
each of them having a different connection with him.
Just give me
that transformation once again, without the need to see the above process, and
I consider myself satisfied. And of course, now if I’m interested in the relationship that
They had Shuichi and Elena before all these events and why they asked for the
desire in the first place.
