My friends, have you been following the meteoric rise and fall of the hot new anime Oshi no Ko? This adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s manga took the top spot in MyAnimeList’s all-time ranking immediately after premiering on April 11th, earning an impressive 9.36, one of the highest scores to date.
Now, we both know fans often give maximum scores to highly anticipated new shows after just one episode. Usually, the ratings start fluctuating after that and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood typically reclaims the top spot. But Oshi no Ko held onto number one for a full 21 days, which is really unusual.
As for whether Oshi no Ko will reclaim the top spot on MyAnimeList's ranking, only time will tell, friends. But the real question is, what did you think of this unconventional story of rebirth and the dark side of fame? Did it captivate you the way it captivated so many others? Let’s continue this discussion, as there is clearly lots more to dive into with this anime. The spotlight may have moved on, but some shows are worth revisiting.
