On the official website for the Manga series by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu, Yakusoku no never land (also known as The promised neverland) it was announced that the work has more than 24 million copies in circulation in 19 volumes.
Shirai and Demizu started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha in August 2016 and was completed in June 2020. The publisher published the nineteenth volume on July 3.
The work inspired an anime adaptation that was released in January 2019. A live-action film with minor changes to the plot will be released on December 18. A second season of the anime has been confirmed for its premiere in October 2020, but due to Japan’s current health situation, it will now be released in January 2021.
