One of the hardest parts of a manga starting its serialization between the pages of a magazine is to stay there, not get canceled after the first revision, and become more and more productive in terms of sales and popularity. The case of The murderer of the reincarnated – Cheat Slayer however, it is different.
We often hear about the launch of new works in Weekly Shonen Jump after removing titles with a negative rating or not very promising. But also outside of the flagship manga by Shueisha things don’t differ that much. However, sometimes the reasons that lead publishers to stop publishing a manga can vary.
A month ago, author Homura Kawamoto and the illustrator started a new manga called “The Killer of the Reincarnated – Cheat Slayer” Aki Yamaguchi, revolved around a character responsible for killing all those who were reborn in another world. However, since its debut, the series has received so much criticism that it was canceled a month after the manga began. The reasons for this decision seem to be the outrage of the fans against the work that negatively mocks the characters of the Isekai. In addition, there are elements among the characters in the story that seem to parody the protagonists of famous anime, such as: Sword Art Online, Re: Zero, Konosuba and many others. According to some users, this decision to go for a work with parodic intent was considered too drastic and the community was consequently split in two.
But do you think there are enough reasons to break off the manga? Let us know what you think about this with a comment below.
