In the second compilation volume of the manga adaptation of the movie Makoto Shinkai, Tenki no Ko (also known as Weathering With You) Realized by Wataru Kubota, it was announced that the manga will end with its third compilation volume, which will be published in October.
Kubota began publishing the manga in the magazine Afternoon from the publisher Kodansha in July 2019. The publisher published the first compilation volume in November and published the second on June 23.
The film was released in theaters in Japan on July 19, 2019, in 359 theaters and 448 screens. The feature-length film sold 1,159,020 tickets, raising 1,643,809,400 yen (about $ 15.22 million) in its first three days, and ranked first on its opening weekend.
Synopsis of Tenki no Ko
The story centers on the high school student Hodaka, who leaves his home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, but immediately loses all his money. Now living his days in isolation, he finally finds a job as a writer for a magazine.
After starting his job, it seems, the weather hasn’t changed from being rainy since. Thus, one afternoon, Hodaka meets a young woman named Hina, who, due to certain circumstances, lives alone with her younger brother, with difficulties but with a very stable and happy life.
