Via his official Twitter account, the author Takehiko Inoue revealed that his sleeve Slam dunkhas a film in production. Although the short message from the author did not reveal any details about it, the studies were listed on the official website Toei animationwhich confirmed that it was an animated film.
Inoue published the manga in the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha between October 1990 and June 1996 with a total of 31 compiled volumes. The piece inspired a 101-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Toei animation, Headed by Nobutaka Nishizawa and scripts from Nobuaki Kishima, published October 1993.
This production was followed by four short films (less than 60 minutes) produced by Toei animation and published between 1994 and 1995. The films contained original content as the manga was not finished and nothing has been produced in connection with the franchise other than video games since then.
Slam Dunk Synopsis
Hanamichi Sakuragi, notorious for his temperament, massive stature and fiery red hair, enrolls at Shohoku High School in hopes of finally making a girlfriend and ending his fifty rejections defeat. However, his notoriety precedes him and causes most students to avoid him. Soon after, after certain events, Hanamichi had two unwavering ideas: “I hate basketball” and “I urgently need a girlfriend”.
One day a girl named Haruko Akagi comes up to him, unaware of his temperament, and asks him if he likes basketball. Hanamichi falls in love with her instantly and makes an ardent affirmation. So they both go to the gym where she asks him to do a slam dunk (dunk or dunk) but Hanamichi crosses over and hits the board. However, his superhuman physical abilities have opened new doors in his life.
