Various press releases confirmed that the manga was published by Takumi fukui and Shinya Umemura, and illustrated by Ajichika, Shuumatsu not a valkyrie (Record of Ragnarok) has exceeded 9 million copies in circulation. The count also includes the twelfth compiled volume, which will be released in Japan on September 18, as well as all spin-offs.
For their part, Fukui, Umemura and Ajichika began publishing the manga through the magazine Monthly comic Zenon from the publisher Tokuma Shoten in November 2017. The publisher published the eleventh compilation volume on June 18, the twelfth will appear in Japan on September 18. A spin-off manga called Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Lu Bu Housen Hishouden, is written and illustrated by Takeo Ono and has been published in the same magazine since October 2019.
The piece inspired a twelve-part anime adaptation produced by the studios. Grafinica (Hellsing Ultimate, Juuni Taisen), Headed by Masao Okubo and scripts written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, published in June 2021 to Netflix. The production of a second season is confirmed.
